The Fellowship Diaries.

Rather than posting updates from my point of view, I have decided to post my characters' diaries. This is Middle Earth from their point of view. I will include the new hashtag #diary to show that this is in character.

There will be periodic diary posts as and when I use certain characters. So Wulfaran, Xandraen, Thlaylac and Hyzenthiel will all let you into their World. Which is Gilrain, of course!

If other characters that I interact with have anything to say... they may show up too!

Deep, Dark Places.

The Mines are dark and scary - you wouldn't want to be there alone!

Wulfaran and his buddy Xavee have been fellowing a lot this year, boosting their levels to 54 and 53 respectively.  Their travels have taken them all over Eriador, from Ered Luin to Angmar and finally to the Mines of Moria.

Wulfaran (left) and Xavee survey the scenery in Angmar.

A good few months were given to following the book quests, mostly Book 1.  Wulfaran had previously gotten lost trying to take Weathertop, but this time he completed it.  Later book quests took the dynamic duo to Angmar, helping Laerdan and friends.  However, once the elves reached Moria, and crafted their legendary weapons, they put the Epic trail on hold and entered the mines.

The mines, though they look long and complicated, are in fact short distances between hubs.  After the first stop at Dolven View, Wulfaran and Xavee moved around the mines to the Twenty First Hall, opening the local travel routes.  Along the way, Wulfaran stopped off for a chat with a dwarf or two... most were not talkative unless you wanted to help them!

In between smashing the life out of goblins and flirting with the morroval girls, Wulfaran has been busy concentrating on his other skills.  Crafting has been practiced over and again and has seen the elf reach Westfold level in both farming and cooking - one level off the current cap.  Alas, building reputation with the Cook's Guild takes longer.  His tailoring is slowly getting there too, though the reliance on Xandraen's forestry skills means he is currently capped at Artisan.  Still, this means he is able to provide new fellow Hyzenthiel with light armour for a good few levels yet!

Farming is hard on the hands - though he was enjoying the buxom company!

Tuesday nights is quest night - he'll be back smashing goblins then!

It's been quite some time!

I have been a bit remiss in posting here - but now we play regularly, I shall update it more!

The first thing I have changed is the Kinship page is now the Fellowship page. Essentially, it is more about my characters and the others they hang out with, not necessarily those of the Kinship(s). Thus it will mostly be about my usual three and those of Gofer and Jay. As the previous kinship seemed quiet, Wulfaran has now joined forces with Geordan and joined a new kinship: Heroes of the North Kingdom (HONKS)! The kin are mainly very high level, so Wulfaran and Geordan being level L44 means we don't often play with the rest yet!

Eyes front, Wulfaran!
Wulfaran has been busy levelling himself up. Regularly questing on a Tuesday night has helped. Having paid many a visit to Rivendell, his spiritual home as an elf, he set about completing the Book quests. Books 1 and 3-6 are done and he now hangs out in Angmar, lamping beasties with Geordan and Nuron. On his way he has met a few of the original Fellowship, including his obsession Arwen Undómiel!

In between the quests, he's been spending time hanging out in Aughaire - staring out across Fasach-larran, the barren wasteland full of warg types! Back in the sttelement, he often chills with the girls in the tents. What goes on when the fires die down is anyone's guess.

He still has a few quests to do in Angmar, mostly in his fellowship, but will soon be off to pastures new.  This is almost certainly west to Forochel.

Wulfaran hangs with the girls of Aughaire - fit!

Damned sexy: Xandraen.
Xandrean has at last managed to level up to L20 and is thus eligible for skirmish action!  She hasn't really been doing a huge amount, a lot of milling about the lands of Bree and Lone.  Plenty of crafting though, and really getting good at making bows - handy for Thlaylac who thrives on his!

New pages!

I have added the new Fellowship page, which is the character list.  Who each character is, what they do, what they look like.  Any regular fellowship member wishing to be added to it, should email me with all the relevant details - Name, Race, Class, Level (as which date), Craft, Server (Gilrain in most cases) and Kinship - along with a brief bio and a screenshot of the character (I can edit this to size).

I am currently working on a trait/deed master list, based on Gofer's initial email.  I'm starting by concentrating on those traits that would suit Champions, Guardians and Hunters but will expand as and when I research it!

The beginning...

Shiny... me wants it!
Hello and welcome to the Random Quests of Wulfy, a spin of from my usual Random Thoughts blog which follows my characters in Lord of the Rings Online (forever to be known as LotRO) and those of my kin of the kinship Illegal Toothpaste.

Currently added to the other pages are Richard "Gofer" Burns' guide to levelling and a general Glossary of terms used in MMORPGs and LotRO in particular.

Wulfaran's favourite past-time... drinking home-brew!
My main character is a Champion Elf called Wulfaran.  I've got him up to level 27 and have completed all the champion trait deeds in the Shire, Bree-land and Erid Luin.  Wulfaran is currently questing and grinding in the Lonelands.

My two alt characters are a Guardian Woman, Xandraen, and a Hunter Hobbit, Thlaylac.  Both are currently around level 17 and based in Bree.  I'm about to get them sorting their deed-traits to get them ready for skirmishing at level 20.  Always good to have the option of a different class, based on who I'm fellowing with!
